Today Wednesday, only nine days left until the starting gun goes by of the 2008 World Series Of Poker in Las Vegas.

On Friday, May 30 this year's edition of the WSOP starts , first out is the World Cup in PL Holdem. The tournament is divided over three days and has the same Buy in as the Main Event, $ 10 000.

Defending champion is the FullTilt poker pro Allen Cunningham who took home the 2007 PL Holdem event, which gave him a satisfactory prize money of $ 487 287. Since last year's Buy In represented only half the cost of this year, this edition should be even more interesting.

WSOP's most expensive Event is HORSE event which mixes five different game ( Holdem, Omaha, Razz, Seven card Stud and Seven card Stud Hi-Lo), which as in previous years, this tournament has a Buy in of the entire $ 50 000. The tournament is also regarded by many players to be the real championship of poker.

Total the World Series Of Poker consists of 55 events in which the Main Event, which has its start on the 3-July is the big main attractions. The tournament has in recent years handed out huge prices, last year's winner Jerry Yang received approximately $ 8.3 million on its profits. But the highest price of all time was the home of the 2006 winner Jamie Gold who went home with unimaginable $ 12 million.

A little odd novelty about the current WSOP is that a few weeks ago the organizer Harrah's announced that the final table of the 2008 Main Event will be removed to as late as 9 November. The reason for this is that the television company, ESPN wants to build a TV show around the final table players.
